$20 Medical Cannabis Card Online in Pearl City
Online advertisements may suggest that Pearl City residents can obtain a medical cannabis card for about $20. That price does not represent the complete cost of obtaining a Hawaiʻi 329 registration.
The official one-year state registration charge is $38.50, consisting of a $35 Department of Health fee and a $3.50 administrative charge. Applicants must also receive proper medical certification from an eligible Hawaiʻi physician or APRN.
Hawaiʻi permits the bona fide provider-patient relationship to be established through an appropriate telehealth evaluation. However, simply completing an internet questionnaire is not sufficient. The medical provider must individually evaluate the patient, consider relevant medical information, and comply with Hawaiʻi’s certification requirements.
Once the evaluation is completed, the applicant finishes the state registry process and sends the application to the medical provider for certification. DOH reviews the completed submission before granting 329 registration.
Medical-provider certification fees are also regulated. For a one-year certification, the combined evaluation and issuance of certification may cost no more than $105.
A Pearl City patient should therefore understand a $20 promotion as a possible discounted component of the process rather than the complete price of becoming a registered Hawaiʻi medical cannabis patient.
